Nominate Officers for Colorado Friesian Horse Club

Dear fellow Friesian horse owners,

This is a great time to join your local FHANA Chapter, the Colorado Friesian Horse Club.
If you join now, you can nominate and elect the officers who will serve for the next two years.

The CFHC was formed in November, 2008 to promote the Friesian horse in Colorado and surrounding regions. One of our major activities is organizing and running the KFPS/FHANA Keuring each year, as we did in 2010.

We will be nominating and electing the following:

President & Chapter Representative.   The Chapter Representative will be the point of contact for all business and other communications between the CFHC and FHANA.

Vice President & Chapter Contact.
The Chapter Contact will be the primary person for members or others to contact via email about CFHC business.

Meeting Chair & Special Tasks Coordinator. The Meeting Chair shall preside at all meetings of the Club and of the Officers and shall, with the approval of the Officers, appoint all regular and special committee or event chairpersons.

Treasurer. The Treasurer shall collect and receive all monies due or belonging to the Club and deposit them in the CFHC bank account.  The Club’s books shall at all time be open to inspection by the Officers and the Treasurer shall report to them at every meeting the condition of the Club’s finances.  The Treasurer shall keep a record of all receivables and payables and shall make payments of funds as directed by the Officers.  The Treasurer shall maintain accurate records of all other transactions and render a report at each regular meeting and a complete financial statement at the end of each year.

Secretary. The Secretary shall keep records of all meetings of the Club and the Officers, receive new membership forms, and keep a roll of all the members and their contact information.

Only members may nominate, or be nominated. All members, including current officers, are eligible. You may nominate yourself.

Please have all nominations to me by Monday, November 15. I will send ballots shortly thereafter. Be sure to include phone number and email of nominees so we can ask them if they accept.

If you join for 2011 before November 15, you can nominate or be nominated, too. Please send your nominations, membership application (available at www.coloradofriesians.com) and check to:

HAITI RELIEF FRIESIAN COLT AUCTION

Please note that this colt is not a KFPS horse from the registry with which CFHC is associated, but rather from the German registry, FPZV, however it seems a worthy cause to support.

Subject: French Equestrian Students

Good morning Horse People!

I work with a French company in placing students with American families during each summer for a few weeks.  There are a number of students who are interested in participating in the Equestrian program, where they commit to working on the family ranch (or a training facility) for several hours every day as part of their stay.  These young people are experienced and well-trained in their area of interest.  The equestrian students' abilities range from intermediate to advanced horsemanship skills, usually with 6 to 11 years of training.  The students have signed medical releases and are fully insured.

The Equestrian, Farm & Ranch Program is offered through a French student exchange company, Horizons du Monde, which has been coordinated student exchanges for 26 years.  Their focus is to help these students have an educational, immersion stay in the United States.  The rewarding cultural experience of hosting a student provides long-lasting memories and friendships for the entire family.

Is there a means in which we can get this information out to member families to see if any of them are interested in participating by hosting a student this summer?

More information about the Equestrian Farm & Ranch Program can be found at www.beahostfamily.org or by contacting me at 303-840-6530.

Thank you!  Please give me a call or send an email if you need further information.
