FRIESIAN REGISTRIES KFPS / FHANA www.fps-studbook.com / www.fhana.com Koninklijk Friesch Paarden-Stamboek / Friesian Horse Association of North America This is the Dutch, and most recognized, Friesian Horse Registry, created in 1879. The KFPS was the original registry for the Friesian Horse and was responsible for saving the Breed from extinction when cross breeding had almost destroyed it. The KFPS has strong regulations for approving stallions to breed, and has exceptional record keeping systems to track progress resulting from the KFPS Breeding Goals. FHANA is the US branch, so to speak, of the KFPS, created in 1984, and is the ONLY other Registry officially linked to the KFPS, within the USA. FPZV / FHS www.fpzv.com / www.friesianhorsesociety.com Friesen Pferde Zucht Verband / Friesian Horse Society The FPZV is the German Registry for Friesian Horses. The FPZV was created on it's own, without affiliation to the KFPS. The FHS, created in 1993, is the USA affiliation to the FPZV. FOA Friesians of America The FOA is a Registry created in 2000 in the USA.
The Colorado Friesian Horse Club is a FHANA Chapter and is aligned with the original Dutch KFPS Registry. We believe the KFPS and FHANA to be the highest caliber and most traditional Friesian Horse registry.
